one of the highlights of my night was during dinner while speaking to my younger cousin about the perks of living on your own, she turns to me with a perplexed look on her face and asks "how do you sleep at night?!" at which point i burst into laughter & proceed to tell her "it's really not that bad!". oh boy, maybe i'm just odd... but i love living on my own. =]

sunday morning... um, night

took my big brother to his first concert EVER last night. he chose Maroon 5 to be the first band he'd see live; and i'm happy to report that he had a great time.
maybe we were a little harsh when poking fun of the opening acts. has anyone ever listened closely to owl city's lyrics? pretty trippy stuff. v.v. brown had some catchy songs.

we had a great time nonetheless. the rain semi-cooperated. the sister-in-law gave me a few good chuckles. she's a funny gal. all in all, it was a good night.

happy father's day!

here are some photos of my loving and handsome dad; when he was in his early twenties.
the top [buddy holly-esque] photo is my favorite of my father; it was taken while he was in the army in early 1970's guinea, africa.

i will eternally be a "daddy's girl", my father would do anything for me (within his power/resources, anyway).
he has always been loving, caring and willing to help me with anything. i am truly blessed to have a "dad", not just a father; but instead someone who chose to stick around and love his wife and children.
