music monday

so i've decided that i'm going to dedicate mondays to music; mostly just artists i'm feeling at the moment, or even singles.

and so, for my first music monday...

one of my recently discovered bands, that i'm currently enjoying is:

The Dimes

so, the dimes newest album The King Can Drink the Harbour Dry is somewhat of a history lesson. the song "Damrell's Fire" is about the great boston fire of 1872. "Abigail, Don't Be Long" is about Abigail Adams. "Walden and the Willow" is a song about historian and philosopher Henry David Thoreau; and "Save Me, Clara" is about the civil war nurse and founder of the american red cross, Clara Barton. that's just to name a few. the dimes give you the opportunity to listen to great music, and learn about this nation's history in the process! i think that's pretty awesome. ^_^

i tried to find a link for damrell's fire, but was unsuccessful. "/
so instead, you get a free download of celia's garden.
